We use computers and laptops at schools, colleges, banks, offices and many more places. In short, day by day the use of laptops and computers are rapidly increase. Sometimes we use computers at sharing. I mean to say some computers are used by many people.
At that time we need to some privacy for our files. 
So we need some password protection for our files. In this article I am going to share How to protect a file with password. So lets start….

Main requirement for this process is “WinRAR archiver”. It may already in your computer, if not then you can download from searching at www.google.com.
You can use this WinRAR for zip and unzip of the folder. When you zip any folder, it will consume low space so its easy to use the zip file.

Steps for lock and unlock the file

• First of all download WinRAR.
• Put the all files (which is to be protect) in one folder.
• Then right click on that folder and select “Add to archive”, as shown below image.

• After Clicking on “Add to archive” one box will open named “Archive name and parameters”. Check the image

• As per shown above image, go to Archiving options and tick mark on “Delete files after archiving”
• There are many tabs like General, Advanced, Options, Files, Backup, Time, Comment. At there click on “Advanced” tab it will look like below image Part-A

• As shown above Part A image  click on “Set password” One more box will appear like Part B
• Tick mark on “Encrypt file names” and give passward at there two times as shown image Part B.
• Then Click on OK. Once again click OK on box named “Archive name and parameters”.
• After that your folder will archived and all files are protected which is in that folder.

That’s it…

Now, any one click on that archived folder it will ask to password. If you give right password it will open as folder and as well as files. If anyone give wrong password then it is not open.

When you using this method, it is most important to remember “PASSWARD”. Keep your passward safe and remember.
